Paruthi Veeran Karthi and Priyamani is pair once again

In Selvaraghavan’s “Ayirathil Oruvan” movie Paruthi Veeran Karthi is starring the lead role and he is going to play a double role flick in his next flick produced by Studio Green. The movie is a remake version of “Vikramarkudu”. Dhanush “Padikathavan” movie director Suraj is to direct the remade version and actress Priyamani is to pair once again with Karthi.
Actress Anushka in the Telugu version “Vikramarkudu” played the lead but for the Tamil she has roped to play as a second heroine. After the movie “Rendu” with Madhavan actress Anushka is ready for her next flick at Kollywood.

Priyamani preferred to act in Malayalam movies
; Labels: PriyamaniPriyamani was born in Palakkad, brought up in Bangalore, entered films through Bharathi Raja’s Kangalal Kaithi Sei, which did little to improve her career in Tamil films.
Then she went on to make a mark in Malayalam movies with Satyam opposite Prithviraj and moved to Telugu where the Jagapathy Babu starrer Pellaina Kothalo shot her to the top of the Tollywood heap. Then came Paruthiveeran in Tamil, which fetched her a National Award and established her as a true-blue top actress. Except Kannada, Priyamani has made a mark in all the three major South Indian languages.
Recently, in an interview, when asked which language she preferred to act in, she replied Malayalam. Priyamani was also quoted as saying, "Malayalam industry looks at the artistes performance while in Tamil and Telugu, glamour is the criteria. Hence I love acting in Malayalam films. I am also looking for a good opportunity to make my debut in Kannada films. If I get a chance in Kannada films, I will be one of the few heroines who have acted in all the south Indian languages as a full-fledged heroine."

Priyamani increased her remuneration

Priyamani was in the spotlight recently for receiving The National Award, as The Best Actress for the year 2007 for the Tamil film ’Paruthiveeran’ is also basking in the fame of her latest release Hare Ram, which has been registered a big hit.
This successful actress, who is equally proficient for glamour as well as performace oriented films has reportedly increased her remuneration by almost double.
Interestingly the producers of her films are willing to pay as per her demands in order to capture her skills in to their projects.

Normally, when a heroine wins a National Award, commercial directors and top heroes prefer to stay away from casting them. But Priyamani, seems to be an exceptional case as she has become the most sought after actress in Kollywood.
Top director Shankar who is on a world tour location hunting for Robot, sent her a telegram congratulating her and also expressing a desire to meet up. This led to rumours in tinsel town that she may be a part of Shankar’s next film with Rajinikanth.
Now she is doing a serious role as an actress of yester year in Malayalam director Ranjith’s Thirakatha with Pritviraj in the lead. Priya is happy that life has taken a turn for the better and she wants to balance off-beat and commercial masala movies. Last week Priya has signed a new Tamil film with upcoming action hero Bharath titled Aarumugham. Priyamani now as Mallu girl

The Kerala based actress Priyamani told that Malayalam films are far superior to movies of any other language in the South. Recently, she won the National Award for her performance in Ameer’s Paruthi Veeran, a Tamil movie.
Now she said, "Though I got best actress award in Tamil, I always consider Malayalam Film Industry is the best in the south. Don’t understand me wrongly. None in Malayalam Industry is compelling artists to act in the scenes. They allow us to perform naturally. But in other languages, directors always teach the artists to act. That is why talented artists are very rare in Tamil and Telugu. In Paruthi Veeran, I didn’t perform on my own. I simply reflected what Ameer taught."
Introduced by Bharathi Raja in Kangalal Kaithu Sei, the actress has to wait for 3 long years to get her first break in Ameer’s Paruthi Veeran. Ameer shows the actress in different angle and after the release of Paruthi Veeran, Priyamani became one of the top class actresses in overnight. Now she is getting nearly 45 lakhs per film in Tamil.

Priya Mani bags National Award

kollywood heroine Muthazhagu Priya Mani for the movie ParuthiVeeran bags the National Award for Best Actress. In deed, Paruthiveeran was a super dooper hit in the recent times. Hero Karthik won a huge applause for his natural acting, sithappu Saravanan gave his life time best effort and priya mani obviously lived the character.
This movie has won several awards in the recent Reliance Mobile Vijay Awards and few other well acknowledged awards too. Priya Mani the Malayalee girl brought up in Bangalore has won the Best Actress Award at the 54th National Film Awards announced in New Delhi today (June10).

Priyamani with Aishwarya Rai in next movie

Kollywood actress Priyamani, who got rave reviews for her work in Paruthiveeran, will now act in a film directed by Mani Ratnam. Mani Ratnam is directing and producing a film in Tamil which will feature Vikram and Aishwarya Rai in the lead. Prithviraj acts as the villain in this film and Priyamani is slated to pair up with him. This is not the first time they are pairing up though, as they are acting together in Ninaithaley Inikkum.
This film is going to take Priyamani places, since she is working with an assortment of eminent and famous artists, especially Aishwarya Rai, and it is Mani Ratnam’s film. This will surely do a world of good to Priyamani’s image, who recently got noticed in the north after Paruthiveeran.
Mani Ratnam has not yet named his film. The filming is slated to begin in September this year. A.R. Rahman will compose the music for this film and P.C. Sriram will be the cinematographer.

Priyamani shared with SRK?

I am proud to have been a student of their acting school. As I said my list of memorable moments is endless, I would like to mention yet another moment where I shared the stage with Shah Rukh Khan at the International Film Festival in Goa. I was acting like a small kid as I was surrounded by big shots of India, including Shah Rukh Khan. He stood beside me and asked if I knew what we were supposed to do on the stage that moment. I got very excited when he spoke in such a friendly manner not carrying any air of being a superstar. This gesture of his touched me and made it one of the best moments of my life.
One of the best moments came a few days after the release of my film Paruthiveeran. Bharathi Raja sir and Balu Mahendra sir are two most important people in my life and I respect them as my guru. After watching me on screen in Paruthiveeran, Bharathi Raja sir called me up and complimented on my work saying that he could see a growth in me as an actress and I would make it big in Kollywood. These words from him still ring in my mind and overwhelms me to the core.
Another joyous moment followed soon when Balu sir gave me a call. He treats me like his daughter and addresses me as yen ponnu (My daughter).He expressed his joy to see his daughter on screen doing so well. That moment made me speechless as getting compliments from someone who has taught me acting wasn’t a small thing.

Priyamani love to be in half-naked costumes

Actress Priyamani is the only actress in the entire tinsel town who can churn 9 flops after 1 hit movie. This was more evident with her Paruthiveeran a blockbuster movie not because of Priyamani but of Ameer. The actress with a wrong attitude has been roaming around in Kodambakkam.
Priyamani has always thinks that appearing in half-naked costumes would make young teens to fall for her. But it is noteworthy that she hasn’t done anything special with her performance in any of her films.
So, if Priyamani has any ideas of getting prolonged with her career in Kollywood, she has to give some importance to her acting and plead producers to provide costumes that are matching for her.
Priyamani, there is no point in praising yourself as ‘Aishwarya Rai of South India’.

Priya, you have gone glam post -Paruthiveeran?
It’s not right to compare that film with the others because Paruthiveeran is a once in a lifetime role for me. But I definitely wanted to shed the village girl image as in our industry; you always seem to be typecast. Luckily for me Malaikottai happened and I utilized it. I am happy to be exploring different types of characters in films.
Who are you supporting in the current IPL matches? Any favourites?
I support all the teams and I think it’s really great that we can watch so many international players playing with emerging Indian youth. I think the dark horses are the Rajasthan Royals led by the shrewd Shane Warne. As for favourites I like Adam Gilchrist and Dhoni.
What are your next projects?
I am doing a Malayalam film with Prithviraj as hero directed by Ranjith. I am also doing a Telugu film and then do the remake of Malayalm film Classmates.
What kind of movies do you want to do? How about women-centric films?
I want to be versatile. In India it’s not really possible to have many heroine oriented movies. I feel that this should change and I hope it happens soon.
Vishal has said that he is not in love with you. Please comment
I am not in love with anyone. I also consider myself fortunate not to have fallen in love as yet. I am single and I love being like that. It is fun and I am enjoying life.
What about rumours linking you with a Telugu actor?
If you are referring to Raja, we are just good friends. When I go to Hyderabad we catch up with each other and meet up for dinner when we have the time. There’s nothing more to it. Right now, I am in love with my work (smiles).

It was a proud day for Sri Lakshmi Productions as they held the 125 th day function of Malaikottai . The Vishal -Priyamani starrer has done well at the box office and producer Ajay Kumar were all smiles as they greeted the guests on the dais.
The well attended function saw a large turnout of Vishal fans. As the actor drove into the venue, they lit a huge round of firecrackers. Later the fan clubs came on stage to garland their hero who was given the title Puratchi Thalapathy and to take pictures with him. The event was compered by the effervescent and chirpy emcee Bosskey who made sure that there was never a dull moment throughout the function.
The occasion was attended by several luminaries from Kollywood including M. Saravanan, KRG, Ramanarayan, Parthiban, Editor Mohan, Jeyam Ravi, Tiruppur Subramaminam, Sandhya, Jeeva, Dharani, R B Chowdhary and Ananda Suresh apart from Vishal, Priyamani and director Bhoopathy Pandian. Guests in the audience included Ashish Vidyarthi, Urvashi, Rekha, Deepa Venkat, Arthi, Kadhal Dhandapani, Mayilsami and Manobala.
M. Saravanan heaped praise on all the cast and crew of the film especially actor Vishal whom he described as ‘an artist whose graph was steadily rising’. Jeyam Ravi in his light hearted speech praised his friend Vishal and recounted that he could understand how happy an artist would be only today, since he had never had any similar function organized by his father for his own films!
Vishal in his speech said “The screenplay was the real hero of this film and I am really grateful to all the co-artistes who helped make this film a success.” The actor suddenly made a surprise announcement stating, “I would like to clear the speculation in the press all these days. I am not in love with Priyamani. She deserves a guy better than me. And its not Nayanthara either..”
He then went on to thank his fans saying, “I have not slept well after this film because now there is greater pressure to perform better in my next.” He thanked his fans for giving him the title before his name, after the release of Malaikottai.Artsites, technicians, distributors and exhibitors were all presented momentoes

Vishal in an interview to a leading Tamil weekly Ananda Vikatan has said that he is in love with an actress and it is a going to be a special valentines day for him. Is it Nayantara with whom he is acting in the upcomming satyam? Both the actresses when contacted have categorically denied the rumors. When contacted again, Vishal says that it is one sided love and he has not told the actress yet. They are friends and understand each other well. He is not sure if he will ever tell the actress. But if he decides to tell and the actress accepts then the whole of Tamil Nadu will know about it.
On the 125th day celebration of “Malaikottai” actor Vishal address in front of his fans that he is not in love with any of these actresses. The actors like Bhagyaraj, Parthiban, Jeeva, Jayam Ravi, Sandhya and many other celebrities appeared in the function and it was hosted in a great manner.
