Actress Reema Sen is upbeat and confident. She is confident that the delay in completing the ’Aayirathil Oruvan’ will not affect the prospects of the movie’s fortune at the box office.

’Aayirathil Oruvan’ directed by Selvaraghavan has Karthi, Reema Sen, Andrea and Parthiban in the cast. The shooting for the movie is on for almost over a year.

Reema Sen preens, ’the film is in the making for over 250 days now. I feel exhilarated and at the same time exasperated. But as an actor, it’s a fulfilling experience. Every scene is challenging’

Asked about her role in the film, she says, ’ I play a heavy duty role - unlike my past breezy appearances. The second half of the film is particularly powerful. It demands an intense delineation of the character I play. At one point, I dropped half a kilo every day on the sets. When I singed the film, I did not expect that it would be such a serious role’. Reema Sen is currently working in a Selvaraghavan film named ’Aayirathil Oruvan’.’Selvaraghavan is a wonderful creator. To be part of his project is indeed a gift for me, said Reema Sen in an interview to a magazine recently.

The actress from Bengal is sharing the screen with ’Paruthiveeran’ Karthi for ’Aayirathil Oruvan’.Keen not to divulge any details about the film, she says,”It is a challenging role for me and I relish being part of the project”.

Having been in the industry for over half-a-decade, she has just managed a handful of films. When queried, she says, “Quantity doesn’t matter for me. Quality is what I look for. I am doing films in various languages simultaneously”. “I have been part of hit films like ’Minnale’, ’Chellamae’ and ’Vallavan’. People say I looked very sensual in sarees. I can consider this to be my identity”, she says.

When asked about other heroines in Tamil Cinema, Reema Sen said, “I am a great fan of Simran and I admire Asin for her screen presence”.

Kollywood homely actress Meera Jasmine ,in one of her new Telugu films titled as ’Yamagola’ directed by Srinivasa Reddy.In which she has made a special appearance in a song sequence along with Reema Sen who plays a cabaret dancer in the movie. In fact, this song was full of glamour.

People who saw the film say that Meera Jasmine was so glamorous that she even overshadowed Reema Sen! It is also said that the Censor Board had to use its scissors to cut 32 shots from the song. Now it is the turn of Tamil audiences to get enamoured by these two divas dancing together in one song, since this Telugu film is now being dubbed in Tamil as Indraloka Ilavarasan.

This comedy entertainer tells the story of a a celestial prince, who has affairs with the three heavenly beauties Ramba, Urvasi and Menaka. He comes back to earth without the knowledge of Indran on a mission. The so-called prince meets a cabaret dancer Reema Sen in a club. Seduced by her beauty and glamour, he falls in love with her and is embroiled in a messy situation when he continues his relationship with her.And this movie will hit screens in July in 16 theatres. Maybe it will come to Malayalam soon!

Reema Sen, bengal beauty plays a bio-scientist

Reema Sen is donning the role of a scientist in Selvaraghavan’s ‘Ayirathil Oruvan’, which has ’Paruthi Veeran’ Karthi in the lead.

According to sources, the Bengal beauty plays a bio-scientist, who invents a medicine that could change the lives of people. It is said that the story revolves on how Karthi becomes a unique man (secret behind the title?) after in taking it.

Says Reema, ’I accepted the role after listening to the entire script. It is so engrossing and will fetch me more fame.’

Meanwhile, Selvaraghavan has said that ‘Ayirathil Oruvan’ is a scientific thriller.

’This is my first experiment with such a different subject. Graphics occupy about 80 per cent of the film. Each and every frame is being shaped up with utmost care.’
