The media preview of Chandni Chowk To China, held yesterday at the Oberoi Mall, Goregaon, provided eye candy in the form of its lead actors - the dapper Akshay Kumar and the svelte Deepika Padukone. Akshay Kumar was his charming self as he sang the title song of the film amidst thunderous applause, while Deepika Padukone stuck to answering media queries with élan.

" TAARE ZAMEEN PAR " MOVIE: Ishaan Awasthi is an eight-year-old whose world is filled with wonders that no one else seems to appreciate; colours, fish, dogs and kites are just not important in the world of adults, who are much more interested in things like homework, marks and neatness. And Ishaan just cannot seem to get anything right in class. When he gets into far more trouble than his parents can handle, he is packed off to a boarding school to be disciplined. Things are no different at his new school, and Ishaan has to contend with the added trauma of separation from his family. One day a new art teacher bursts onto the scene, Ram Shankar Nikumbh, who infects the students with joy and optimism. Latest Bollywood sensation Deepika Padukone has been nominated in the best actress category for her scintillating performance in the blockbuster Om Shanti Om at the second Asian Film Awards, organisers announced on Thursday.
Padukone, who grabbed eyeballs with her performance in the Bollywood hit, will vie with Joan Chen of China (The Home Song Stories), Jeon Do-yeon of South Korea (Secret Sunshine), Kirin Kiki (Tokyo Tower: Mom and Me, and Sometimes Dad), Kim Yun-jin of Korea (Seven Days) and Tang Wei of Hong Kong (Lust, Caution) for the top award.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on March 17.

Back with a bang: Deepika and Ranbir
If seeing is believing, then one can safely say that Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor are back to being friends.
The duo was out and about in Mumbai recently and was later seen looking for a music system at a suburban five-star hotel’s shopping plaza.
Dressed in smart casuals, Deepika and Ranbir were visibly excited doing the sound check of the audio and video products. An onlooker says, “They were keen on having a high-end music system. While Ranbir was stressing on the features, Deepika wanted a user-friendly gadget.”
Deepika and Ranbir were not on talking terms after their short-lived affair, until they patched up recently. The duo came face-to-face and even exchanged greetings while filming in Australia for their yet untitled Yash Raj film, directed by Siddharth Anand. However, they barely socialised, as Deepika was accompanied by her cricketer admirer Yuvraj Singh, and Ranbir was in the constant company of fashion designer Nandita Mahtani.
The duo buried the hatchet some time back when they met each other during a cola commercial shoot with Shah Rukh Khan. That’s when Deepika and Ranbir got talking. Soon thereafter, they started meeting up for dinners and late night coffees.
A source close to Deepika confirms, “Yes, Deepika and Ranbir went out shopping. Deepika wanted to get a high quality music system and Ranbir was helping her out in picking one.” Well, sounds like quite a game of musical chairs. Blow hot, blow cold. But then, that’s what you call a melodious romance, Yashraj-style, right?
Deepika ditches Farah for Yuvraj
Deepika Padukone has all the time in the world for Yuvraj Singh but she doesn't have any time for Farah Khan, who gave the newbie her big break in films.
According to an insider from the Om Shanti Om camp, "Farah is irked with Deepika's ungrateful attitude. She has not kept in touch after the release of the film. The OSO girl hasn't spoken to Farah for a couple of months except sending a SMS on her birthday (January 9)."This is the way of the world. If Shahrukh was ignoring me, I would have felt very hurt. It's true that Deepika has not kept in touch since OSO's release. Her parents, Prakash Padukone and wife sent me a thank-you letter after watching the film. I was very touched. I last met Deepika during the OSO book launch on November 14. I guess she"s been busy with shooting and travelling all over the world.
I read she was in Australia watching the cricket match, and shooting for Yash Raj's film. She's busy enjoying life, I guess, and basking in the glory. In any case, I am faltu right now (Farah's expecting triplets next week). I won't be directing any film for at least a year."

Amongst the OSO cast, apparently only Deepika hasn't kept in touch. Farah says, "Arjun (Rampal) and Shreyas (Talpade) regularly keep in touch. Fortunately, most of the stars I've worked with Zayed (Khan), Amrita (Rao), and Sunil (Shetty) still come and visit me years after Main Hoon Naa.
I find it amusing that Deepika hasn't kept in touch. I have seen it happening so many times in the film industry you give a break to a newbie and she/he forgets you when they become big."
Apart from Deepika, the only actress who hasn't been in contact is Sushmita Sen. The mommy-to-be adds, "Sush doesn't keep in touch with anybody so it's not just me. Right now she's busy with her home production, but Sush is a darling so warm and gracious.
Deepika was unavailable for comment but a friend of the actress clarifies, "There is no problem between them. Deepika has been in touch with Farah over SMS."

But when Deepika was approached with this question yesterday she confirmed that she is Not going to Marry Anyone? . She also cleared that she is presently happy being single and if at all she plans about her marriage she will reveal it to the media.
Deepika padukone before her release was dating Ranbir Kapoor of Saawaria fame. But the relationship ended by a tag called just friends.
Deepika padukone also confirmed that she is not going to act in the film Krish 2 opposite to Hrithik Roshan . She confirmed this news as there were rumors going on in the media circle that she has signed the film Krish 2 opposite to Hrithik. But she added saying that she is willing to work with the charming star in near future.
Presently deepika has not yet signed any film and is said to be demanding 1.5 crores to 2 crores for each film. karrena kapoor presently holds the record of highest paid actress in bollywood . As she has recently signed a film for a whooping cost of 3.5 crores . May be this record will be broken by deepika in her second film. Lest wait and watch.

Having got her big break opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Om Shanti Om’, Deepika Padukone will now be seen with Sharman Joshi in Rakesh Roshan’s unititled next celluloid venture.
Incidentally, the success of ‘Om 
Shanti Om’ has sky-rocketed Deepika’s demand among the Bollywood crop of directors and now we learn that the lass is demanding a whopping Rs one crore fee for each film that she is signing!
If both the news makes you raise your eye-brows, we have more for you. We are told that when Rakesh Roshan decided to take up the new venture, he had thought of casting a more popular face as the film’s hero.
However, as it is basically a heroine-oriented film, no actor worth his name or value was willing to oblige the senior Roshan. Hence, he had to settle on Sharman Joshi.
Meanwhile, industry sources say that despite being a heroine-oriented film, the venture may prove to be detrimental for Deepika at this nascent stage of her career.
They argue that heroine-oriented films are neither given much importance by the Bollywood crowd, nor are they great crowd pullers at the box office.
Interestingly, these days even the women in the audience are not too fond of heroine-oriented films.
Now what remains to be seen is how the new celluloid pair fares at the box office.
The audience as well as those in the industry not only has great expectations from Rakesh Roshan, whose all previous films have been super-duper hits, but also on Deepika.
We earnestly hope and pray that this film also proves to be a boon for Deepika, for Bollywood has the unique reputation of elevating a non-entity on Cloud 9 in one movie and then tumbling them to obscurity in another.
We sincerely hope that this does not happen to Deepika.
